Mission Statement

tkrn’s archive is a niche web archive specifically focused on the preservation of vintage computer technology and video game console related information. There is an emphasis on preserving sites that have information to reverse engineering hardware/software and or driver/game/mod repositories.

Software Setup

Debian 10 “Buster” Operating System

  • Debian 10.10
  • Heritrix 3.4.0-20210621 – Crawler
  • OutbackCDX – CDX server for resource lookups
  • OpenWayBack – Web UI and replay of WARC files *** In active transition to pywb ***

Hardware Setup

tkrn’s archive runs on a single HPE ProLiant DL380e Gen8 12x Large Form Factor (LFF) running 2x Intel Xeon E5-2450 v2 processors (8 cores @ 2.5Ghz each) with 128GB DDR3 memory.

The archive component is virtualized on a TrueNAS/FreeNAS installation. The primary setup is 12x 3TB 7.2K hard drives with 2x 3Par StoreServ 3000 3.5″ 24-bay populated with 24x 2TB drives operating in RAID2Z disk groups.
